Rhonda Bennetto - Principal and Founder
Rhonda is an accomplished investor relations practitioner and the founder of Tier One IR. For over 25 years she has been communicating credible company value propositions to investors and stakeholders in all disciplines of the capital markets. As an investor of other people’s money early in her career, Rhonda was frustrated with the lack of plain, true, clear, understandable disclosure from public companies so set her career on a course where she could make a difference. By fully understanding a company’s attraction as an investment, she has developed and executed multiple award-winning strategic communications programs and corporate investor materials clearly explaining activities ranging from pre- and post-IPO’s, equity/debt financings, secondary offerings, M&A Activity and reputation management including shareholder activism. Rhonda is a recognized leader and educator on IR best practices, disclosure and regulatory compliance, and digital and new media communications. She was a Chapter President of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI) and served as Chairman of the Public Relations Advisory Committee for Mount Royal University in Calgary. Rhonda is currently a member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
Jin Wang - Manager IR & Financial Analyst
Jin brings a unique perspective to Tier One with his ability to compile, improve and analyze data within financial forecasting models and by incorporating a variety of other information platforms. This talent deepens Tier One’s ability to help clients evaluate investor appetite, identify outreach opportunities and improve competitiveness within the investment community with a tailored solution to optimizing their investor relations activities. Prior to joining Tier One full-time, Jin worked as a Business Teaching and Research Assistant for four years while completing his degree. These work experiences provided him the opportunity to practice and reinforce the knowledge he acquired and furthered his detail-oriented nature in financial analytics. In the last year of studying for his Accounting/Finance degree, Jin stood out among his peers and was brought on as a temporary Junior Financial Analyst for Tier One, where he impressed us with his analytical abilities and earned himself a permanent position after graduation. Jin is passionate about finance, capital markets, investment banking and investor relations and is pursuing his CFA designation.
Annie brings nearly 20 years of experience in the financial community to StreetSmart. During her tenure at Montgomery Securities as a corporate finance professional, she completed more than 80 equity, private placement, fixed income and merger and acquisition transactions. Working closely with pre and post-IPO companies to understand their financial needs, develop the most effective messages for the investment community, she gained a deep understanding of the dynamic financial markets and “Street” perceptions. Her desire to apply in-depth research to understanding her clients led to her years in sell-side research at UBS. There, she gleaned a keen sense of the inner-workings of companies and the challenges they face, as well as the buy-side’s requirements for investment, leading to her ability to ask the ‘right’ questions and craft compelling investment stories. These relationships with the street formed the basis for her strong communication and advisory skills. This culminated in the founding of a unique IR firm in StreetSmart several years ago, filling a much-needed niche for informative, knowledgeable investor relations for strong companies and management teams at various stages of development.
